Lehighton Borough Council
Lehighton Borough Council approved the following this week:
• Joe Hutta to repair and update the grove comfort stations in the amount of $8,980.
• The proposal from CJ Construction LLC for the completion of the police station rest/shower room in the amount of $2,950.
• Elizabeth Lorenz as the borough’s Health Officer for the balance of 2018.
• Work on a short-term lease with Jerry McAward, owner of the Lehighton Outdoor Center, for use of the land at the former sewer plant.
• To retain the triangle property on Sgt. Stanley Hoffman Boulevard.
• The right of way agreement with Blue Ridge Cable for Baer Memorial access.
• Approved the Peaceful Knights request to hold its annual event in town from 9 a.m. to noon July 21.
• Approved the presence of fire police for the grand opening at the Lehighton Outdoor Center scheduled for this weekend.
• Granted Bonnie & Clyde’s Pub & Grill permission to hold an Anniversary Beer Festival on July 21, and to close down a portion of First Street and use of lower park, with the proceeds from the event being given to the Lehighton Downtown Initiative.
• Approved $30 gift cards for Administrative Professional Day.
