Elderly Lehigh Township man killed in crash
An elderly Lehigh township man was killed Saturday evening in a crash on Mauch Chunk Road in Coplay.
The crash occurred at 6:30 p.m. at the intersection with Main Street.
State police at Bethlehem report 81-year-old Robert Drey was pronounced dead at the scene. Drey was traveling north when his car entered the right berm striking a tree on the property of the Ironton Elementary school.
Deputy Coroner Richard Kroon pronounced Drey dead at 6:40 p.m., at the scene.
The PA State Police- Bethlehem Barracks is conducting the investigation with the Lehigh County coroner’s office.
