Woman’s Club of Slatington holds arts contest
The Woman’s Club of Slatington held its annual arts contest at the Slatington Public Library earlier this month.
The contest included entries from young children, students and adults, as the categories included coloring, two-dimensional art, three-dimensional art and photography.
Woman’s Club members Deb Barhight and Hali Kuntz directed the evening, and library board member Donna Funk welcomed everyone on behalf of the library.
The winners of each category were announced, and entertainment was provided by the Girl Scout trio of Delaney Szwast, Rileigh Seaman and Nevaeh Garrison on saxophone, flute and clarinet, followed by vocal soloists Annabel Pyne and Margaret Surdovel.
Each contestant received a certificate for participating, and winning student entries were given small monetary awards.
Winners of the library’s 50/50 raffle were: First place, Judy Merluzzi; second place, Lynne Fedorcha; and third place, Doug Owens.
