Woman found dead of stab wounds to throat

WILKES-BARRE (AP) — Authorities say a woman found dead in the bathroom of Pennsylvania apartment had been stabbed multiple times in the throat.

The body of 39-year-old Cindy Lou Ashton was found in the apartment building she owned in Wilkes-Barre Township on Wednesday after her employer called police to report that she had not shown up for work.

Police have not released any information on a possible suspect, but they say they do not think that the killing was random. They are seeking to search Ashton’s cellphone, believing she may have been in contact with the killer.
