Lansford announces ‘Music in the Park’ lineup

Lansford’s “Music in the Park” series has announced 13 concert dates which will take place this summer in the borough.

The concert series, presented by the Lansford Alive Events Committee, will take place Sundays at 6 p.m. from June 3-Aug. 26.

Concerts are held each Sunday night through August in the gazebo at Kennedy Park, located at Patterson and Cortright streets.

The event continues to grow each year, but it actually attracts more people from outside the borough than Lansford residents, volunteer Robert Dobosh said at a Lansford Borough Council meeting this week.

“I’d like the town to come and support it. We get loads of people from out of town but not getting that many from in town,” Dobosh said.

Councilwoman Marie Ondrus said despite the success of the event, she would like to see more support from Lansford residents.

Mayor James Romankow praised the Lansford Alive Events Committee for putting together the event.

“It gets bigger and bigger and better and better each year,” he said.
