Fire causes damage to Lansford home
A fire broke out in the area of an exterior electrical box at a Lansford dwelling this morning, but was contained before doing extensive damage.
The blaze occurred at a home in the 300 block of West Abbott Street.
The occupant, a 92-year-old woman, was cooking when she smelled smoke.
She tried dialing 9-1-1 but her telephone was dead, so she went to a neighbor’s house.
The fire was contained to mostly the exterior of the house on the lower floor.
Firefighters from Lansford, Summit Hill and Coaldale responded.
