Walnutport Borough Council

Walnutport borough council took the following action on Thursday:

• Agreed to have borough grant coordinator Michael Wentz apply for a grant to cover the cost for an emergency generator and wiring for its borough office and police station.

• Granted conditional preliminary/final approval of the Ashwood Enterprises for the “Main Street Twins” located at 302 Main St., upon conditions being met. The applicant wishes to subdivide and construct two duplex dwelling units for a total of four lots. The lot is currently vacant and was a single-family detached dwelling razed due to fire damage.

• Approved the reimbursement form for Act 172.

• Announced that a hearing for Green Street will be held on June 14.

• Announced that the E-Recycling event will be held on Wednesday. Volunteers are needed.
