Walnutport resident asks council to consider volleyball for residents
A Walnutport man believes the borough should offer volleyball as a recreational activity for its residents.
Resident Donald Eckhart told borough council last week that he believes a volleyball court would make for a nice addition in the borough.
Eckhart, who serves on the borough’s recreation committee, said he recently observed a group of over two dozen people playing volleyball at a nearby recreation park.
He said it was a cross-section of people who ranged from the midteens to late 20s, “All having a really nice time.”
“We’re missing that group in Walnutport,” Eckhart said. “I think I would like to see us have it for public recreation.”
Eckhart said he would personally give the first $2,000 to get the project started.
“I really think we ought to have it,” he said.
