LANSFORD EVENTS
Lansford Alive announces a series of events for Memorial Day weekend:
• The Lansford Historical Society will open its museum from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday for tours and a special Memorial Day war display to honor our servicemen and women.
The display will feature uniforms from World War I, World War II, and Korea,
A rare World War I Silver Star, trench art, and newspapers depicting major battles and specific dates will also highlight the display.
The museum was also fortunate to receive service members’ scrapbooks and letters sent to family members for visitors to view. The society museum is located at 117 E. Bertsch St. in Lansford and is open from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays and will open every Friday beginning in June from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
