No injuries when SUV mows down trees in East Penn

Several people escaped serious injuries Wednesday afternoon in a crash along Summer Mountain Road in East Penn Township.

The crash occurred at 1:07 p.m. as the driver was traveling south just north of the intersection with Dinkey Road.

The driver failed to negotiate a right curve in roadway climbing an embankment. The vehicle mowed down numerous trees before rolling into its side. Several passersby help to roll the unit back onto its wheels before authorities arrived on scene.

The occupants were being evaluated by Lehighton paramedics. State police at Lehighton are investigating the incident.
