Carbon Hall of Fame inducts 25 new members
The Carbon County Sports Hall of Fame on Sunday inducted 25 new members representing the Class of 2018. Some of them included, front row from left, Rodney Lechleitner, Tom Miller and Tony Maholick, Summit Hill inductees, and Mary Beth Paslawsky, who accepted the plaque on behalf of her late uncle, Mike “Puss” Paslawsky, Ted Bortnick and Jack Sweeney, Coaldale inductees; and back row, Evan Evans, who accepted the plaque on behalf of the late John Horoschak, Coaldale inductee, Gary Karnish, Emmett McCall and James Steber, Lansford inductees, and Jim Paluck, Jim Mikovich and Gene Snisky, Nesquehoning inductees. At its annual banquet this past Sunday, a number of inductees were added to the Carbon County Sports Hall of Fame. Among them were, front row from left, Billy Cyr, Barbara Jones Larvey and Wendy George Nalesnik, Palmerton inductees, Eleanor McNelis and Charles Getz, who accepted the plaque on behalf of her late husband and his late brother, respectively, Clinton Getz, Jim Thorpe inductee, and Joe Romano, Tamaqua inductee; and back row, Corey Schaeffer and Larry Stern, Lehighton inductees, Daniel McGinley, Jim Thorpe inductee, and Adam Knoblauch, Dr. Tom Rottet and Erika Barron Davis, Tamaqua inductees. The Carbon County Sports Hall of Fame on Sunday inducted 25 new members representing the Class of 2018.
The annual banquet was held at the Franklin Township Fire Company social hall.
This year’s inductees were:
Coaldale – Ted Bortnick, John Horoschak, Mike Paslawsky and Jack Sweeney.
Jim Thorpe – Clinton Getz and Danny McGinley.
Lansford – Gary Karnish, Emmett McCall and James Steber.
Lehighton – Corey Schaeffer, Matthew Schaeffer and Larry Stern.
Nesquehoning – Jimmy Mikovich, Jim Paluck and Gene Snisky.
Palmerton - Billy Cyr, Barbara (Jones) Larvey and Wendy (George) Nalesnik.
Summit Hill – Rodney Lechleitner, Tony Maholick and Tom Miller.
Tamaqua – Erika (Barron) Davis, Adam Knoblauch, Joseph Romano and Tom Rottet.
