Car rear-ends truck on I-81

A car rear-ended a truck at a construction zone on Interstate 81 in Butler Township, Schuylkill County, on Tuesday.

State police at Frackville said Devin L. Struchen Sr., 48, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, driving a 2013 Kenworth truck-tractor with trailer was southbound at 1:10 p.m. in the left lane due to the right lane being closed for construction. Struchen had to apply his brakes due to traffic in front of him when a 2016 Honda Accord, operated by Danielle M. Ross, 41, of Jermyn, Lackawanna County, rear-ended the trailer portion of his rig.

No one was injured. Troopers cited Ross for following too closely.
