A look back: June 7, 1974

Edmund A. Anderson of Palmerton was honored by the board of directors of Lehigh County Community College and John F. Hower of Slatington was elected chairman of the board of trustees during their meeting last night.

Anderson was presented a resolution after serving seven years as a trustee and former chairman of the board. College President Dr. John G. Berrier also presented him a cap and gown.

Hower succeeds Leon S. Peters of Fogelsville, who was chairman during the past two years. Hower previously served as the board’s treasurer.

Other officers are Joseph Moffitt, Whitehall, vice president; Dr. Muriel M. Berman, Allentown, secretary; and Dr. Carl K. Newhart, Whitehall, treasurer.
