Lansford shows off Hometown Heroes
ABOVE: Nathan Krajcirik, commander of the Lansford American Legion Post, hangs a Hometown Hero banner on a post along Ridge Street in Lansford on Tuesday. He said the Hometown Heroes banners are a project of the Lansford American Legion and about 50 such vinyl tributes to present and past military members are being hung. All the work is being done by Legion members. Watching Krajcirik are, from left, Joe Nichols, Richard Pogwist, Ron Kehl Sr., John R. Poko and Tim Midas.
RIGHT: Krajcirik said the Legion has begun a Hometown Heroes project in which banners are hung honoring past and present military members. The Hometown Heroes banner program also exists in Tamaqua, Summit Hill and numerous other local communities. The bucket truck being used to hang the banners was donated for use to the Legion.
