Weatherly announces immunization guidelines
Immunization regulations implemented by The Pennsylvania Department of Health are in place for the 2018-2019 school year at Weatherly.
The regulations shorten the provisional enrollment to the first five days of school.
What this means for students is that the boosters for new kindergarten students, students entering seventh grade and students entering 12th grade need to be received as soon as possible, but before the first five days of school, or your child risks exclusion from school.
The new guidelines do not change the regulations allowing a child to obtain an exemption from immunizations for either religious or medical reasons.
School nurses recommend scheduling an appointment with the child’s doctor as soon as possible.
Proof of immunizations should be forwarded to the school nurses. Any child not meeting the state requirements for immunizations will be excluded from attending school according to the Pennsylvania law, so please don’t wait to submit the required documentation.
Please refer to the Weatherly Area school webpage for more detailed information or call the school nurses with any questions.
