Carbon County court — DUI Pleas

A Weatherly man entered guilty pleas to a firearms count and drunken driving charge this week in Carbon County court.

Jason Jay Stevens, 33, pleaded to one count each of firearms not to be carried without a license and driving under the influence. He was previously placed in the county’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program but was revoked from it for violating conditions.

Judge Joseph J. Matika accepted the pleas.

On the firearms charge Stevens was placed on probation for a year and on the DUI count, six months probation. He was also ordered to pay a fine of $300 for the DUI and render 50 hours of community service, pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation. The terms run concurrently.

He was arrested on July 27, 2014, by Beaver Meadows police along Broad Street following a vehicle stop.

Robert Anthony Terracino, 28, of Altoona, Blair County, pleaded to one count of DUI.

He was arrested on July 1, 2015, by Beaver Meadows police along Berwick Street. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

He was sentenced to serve 10 days to 24 months in prison, a fine of $500, one year license suspension, pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole.

He was given credit for 160 days and paroled.
