Kidder Township questions use of library funds
Penn Kidder Library Center has made its request for distribution of its annual donation from Kidder Township. But for the second month in a row the township was not ready to release the full amount promised in the 2018 budget.
“When we met with the library, the school district and the Dimmick Library there was financial information that we requested,” township Chairman Thomas Bradley Jr. said. “We haven’t received all of that information yet.”
Bradley was requesting a balance sheet, showing profit and loss as well as assets held by the library. Library personnel agreed to provide the information within two days.
“When we increased the amount for the library it was specifically to be earmarked for new software for the cataloging system,” said Supervisor Larry Polansky.
Polansky agreed to make a motion to release $2,500 to the library providing that the money was used for the new software.
Library board President Mary Farnschlader agreed.

The township supervisors approved minor subdivisions for Paul Montemuro and Split Rock Country Club.
The board also granted a two-year extension on Midlake II (Boulder Lake Village) and Jack Frost Gold Course PRD-Phase I at the request of Blue Ridge Real Estate Company.
The supervisors agreed to request 10-year extensions to the Keystone Opportunity Enterprise Zone when the need arises.
