Bethany EC Church

Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship with the Rev. Jeff Stansbury, pastor.

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages, including adult Bible study class, fellowship time at 10:15 a.m., morning worship at 10:45 a.m., preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Tuesday: Ladies Bible study, 10 a.m. at Blocker’s residence.

Wednesday: Prayer meeting, 7 p.m.

Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, 5:15 a.m.

Crossroads Community Church

Crossroads Community Church, 580 Coal St., holds Sunday worship service with Pastor Jim Banks. It is a place for a fresh start with God.

Adult Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; Contemporary worship service at 10:30 a.m. with nursery available; Children’s Sunday school at 11 a.m.; Fellowship following service.

Communion: Last Sunday of the month.

Trinity happenings

Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., with Holy Communion is at 9:30 a.m. Gluten-free communion wafers are available for those with allergy issues. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides.

First Tuesday Quiet Communion is at 10 a.m. July 3.

The ELCA Youth Gathering is taking place in Houston, Texas, through Sunday. Those with media access are invited to tune in to the daily broadcasts of “mass gatherings” held at NRG Stadium for inspiring speakers and music on the theme “This Changes Everything.” The evening broadcasts continue at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Join Vicar Rich Bergen for hamburgers, hot dogs and Bible study. Following the 6 p.m. July 16 cookout, the topic is Martin Luther’s four-stranded garland style of prayerful reflection.
