Hit-and-run crash on I-81 in Schuylkill

State police at Frackville are investigating a hit-and-run incident that occurred along Interstate 81 in Delano Township, Schuylkill County on Tuesday.

Troopers said Jacob T. Caiello, 19, of Syracuse, New York, was driving a 2016 Toyota Yaris southbound in the left passing lane and next to a tractor-trailer rig at 7:12 a.m. The rig began to merge into the left lane and struck the Toyota on the right passenger side. After impact the truck driver continued southbound without stopping. Caiello immediately pulled onto the west berm of the road. Caiello was not injured and damages were minor to his vehicle.

Caiello was unable to get a registration plate number on the rig.
