Motorcyclist injured in Monroe crash

A motorcyclist was injured and flown to a hospital following a crash with a car in Monroe County. Pocono Mountain Regional police said the crash occurred at 7:46 p.m. on July 10 at the intersection of routes 115 and 903.

Police said Hugh Green, 72, of Blakeslee was driving a 2016 Hyundai Elantra northbound on 115 and attempting a left turn onto 903 when a 2002 Kawasaki motorcycle, operated by Michael Smith, 20, of Blakeslee, struck the front end of the Hyundai. Smith was flown by medical helicopter to the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

Green and a passenger were taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.

Assisting police at the scene were volunteers from the Tunkhannock Fire Company.
