A Coaldale woman who admitted to defrauding Pennsylvania out of $30,000 via false medical claims will serve five years on probation.

Tamara C. Price, 31, will also have to pay the money back to the state Department of Human Services, Schuylkill County Judge Charles M. Miller ruled.

She pleaded guilty to filing a false or fraudulent medical assistance claim and theft by deception.

Charges of submitting a claim for services not rendered and submitting a claim with false information were dropped in plea negotiations.

The charges were filed by the state attorney general’s office on April 3, 2013.

Price was among 15 local people entering guilty pleas before Miller. All were also ordered to pay court fees and costs.

David R. Green, 66, of Tamaqua, was charged by borough police with defiant trespass on May 27, 2017.

Miller sentenced him to six months on probation, and ordered Green to have no contact with the victim.

Nicole Bailey, 41, of Tamaqua, was charged by McAdoo police with possession of drug paraphernalia and no rear lights on July 28, 2017.

Miller fined her $75.

Derrick Lutz, 53, of Tamaqua, was charged by borough police with driving under the influence and DUI while suspended, and improper driving without lights.

He pleaded guilty to the DUI charges. The lighting charge was dropped.

Miller sentenced him to six months on probation, ordered him into outpatient treatment for six to eight months, fined him $1,300, and ordered him to perform 10 hours of community service.

Zoey Bartenope, 21, of Palmerton, was charged by Coaldale police with receiving stolen property and retail theft on May 22, 2017.

She pleaded guilty to the property charge, and Miller sentenced her to 30 days to 12 months in jail.

Anthony L. Kehl, 48, of Tamaqua, was charged by borough police with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a controlled substance, aggravated assault, possessing instrument of crime, simple assault, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia on Aug. 28, 2017.

He pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a controlled substance; the remaining charges were dropped.

Miller sentenced him to 15 to 48 months in state prison.

Heather Moser, 27, of Weissport, was charged by Tamaqua police with possession of drug paraphernalia on Nov. 10, 2017.

Miller placed her on 12 months of probation.

Jeremy S. Yeakley, 33, of Tamaqua, was charged by West Penn Township police with making a false statement under penalty and materially false written statement.

He pleaded guilty to the first charge; the second was dropped.

Miller placed Yeakley on 12 months of probation.

Gregory A. Macalush, 26, of Lansford, was charged by Coaldale police with fleeing or eluding police, driving under suspension-DUI related and stop sign violation, flight to avoid apprehension/trial and three counts of improper signal on Sept. 30, 2017.

He pleaded guilty to fleeing, driving under suspension, and the stop sign violation. The remaining charges were dropped.

Miller sentenced him to two to 23 months in jail and fined him $25.

Earl F. Hartranft, 39, of Tamaqua, was charged by borough police with possession of drug paraphernalia on Nov. 1, 2017.

Miller sentenced him to 12 months on probation.

James A. Katona, 52, of McAdoo, was charged by McAdoo police with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and having no rear lights on Aug. 8, 2017.

Miller sentenced him to 12 months on probation. The charges of possession of marijuana and no rear lights were dropped.

Monica B. Russup, 52, of Tamaqua, was charged by borough police with possession of drug paraphernalia on Aug. 2, 2017.

Miller placed her on six months of probation.

Christian C. Shilko, 48, of Tamaqua, was charged by borough police with theft, terroristic threats and defiant trespass, and receiving stolen property on Sept. 1, 2016.

He pleaded guilty to the theft and threats charges; the remaining charge was dropped.

Miller sentenced him to 12 months on probation and ordered him to pay $560 in restitution.

Hunter P. Skidmore, 20, of Lansford, was charged by Tamaqua police with making a false statement under penalty on June 17, 2017.

Miller placed him on six months of probation.

Tyler M. Strawdinger, 25, of Scranton, was charged by Tamaqua police with flight to avoid apprehension/trial and possession of drug paraphernalia, false identification to law enforcement, driving under suspension, driving unregistered vehicle and driving without a license on Nov. 10, 2017.

He pleaded guilty to flight and possession; the remaining charges were dropped.

Miller sentenced Strawdinger to three to 23 months in jail.
