A heat advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. today, with heat index values reaching up to 102.

Temperatures will be in the lower 90s, and dewpoints in the lower 70s.

A chance of showers and storms exists this afternoon and evening. Storms will be capable of producing heavy rainfall. Urban and poor-drainage flooding may occur, and an isolated instance of flash flooding cannot be ruled out.

Dangerously hot conditions may continue through Independence Day.
