Lehighton Borough Council
Lehighton Borough Council recently took the following action:
• Tabled the purchase of a 2019 Versalift VST47 Bucket Truck in the amount of $186,640.
• Approved the proposal for Phase II — portable manhole flow metering analysis for the Inflow and Infiltration Reduction Program in the amount of $11,900.
• Approved the purchase of $5,000 in fuel from Hazleton Oil and Environmental for the waste oil furnace at the Public Works Garage.
• Granted approval of the Municibid for the L&P Expedition to Megan Repsher in the amount of $7,900.
• Tabled discussion on “no parking” on Cedar Street, both sides, between Third and Fourth streets.
• Tabled discussion on the future of the 1994 Reserve Engine Fire Truck.
• Approved the Lehighton Takedown Club holding its annual car show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 5.
• Approved a resolution for the destruction of police records.
• Agreed to close borough hall and all departments Dec. 24, Dec. 26, and Dec. 31. Sixteen hours of vacation/personal time will be used.
