Woman seriously injured

A Monroe County woman was seriously injured in what police are calling a domestic incident that occurred on Sunday.

Pocono Mountain Regional police responded to a residence along Sidney Avenue in Pocono Summit, Coolbaugh Township, at 9:36 a.m. for a domestic incident with injuries. On scene, officers found a 40-year-old woman bleeding from a head wound and who was not able to provide a statement.

She was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital – Pocono, East Stroudsburg, by Pocono Mountain Regional EMS. Police later learned that the woman suffered a severe head wound.

Police said the incident is still under investigation and no charges have been filed as yet.
