A look back: July 11, 1992
The Rush Township board of supervisors appointed Kenneth Hoppes to the planning commission for a four-year term in what Supervisor George Pinkey called “raw politics, and not good politics.”
The term of Daniel Pinkey (brother of George) expired last month and he was interested in reappointment, but Supervisors Raymond Boyer and Ronald Werner voted to replace him, despite George Pinkey’s claim that his brother had spent considerable time and money “attending training sessions and workshops to learn more.”
His motion to reappoint his brother died for the lack of a second after which time Boyer and Werner outvoted him in favor of Hoppes.
