Driver flees scene of work zone crash

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said the driver of a vehicle involved in a mishap in a work zone on Route 715 in Chestnuthill Township fled the scene.

The incident happened at 7:11 p.m. July 2 at the intersection of Route 715 and Rolling Pines Dive.

Police said the Jeep Cherokee was traveling south through a construction zone that was down to one lane, with traffic being alternated and controlled by a flagman. Police said a 2013 Toyota Four Runner, driven by Christina M. Blomberg, 47, of Saylorsburg, was stopped at the flagger at the end of the work zone when it was hit from behind by the Jeep, whose driver left the scene.
