Carbon dentist attains lifelong service recognition

The Academy of General Dentistry has announced that Michael R. Everett D.D.S. of Lehighton has earned the 2018 Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition.

Everett received the accolade for his commitment to lifelong learning, volunteering his services to communities in need, mentoring associates and new dentists, and participating in organized dentistry.

The Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition is presented only to members who have gone above and beyond earning the association’s highest honor of mastership.

To accomplish this recognition, Everett completed at least 1,600 hours of continuing dental education in 16 different dental disciplines.

In addition, recipients must complete at least 100 hours of dental-related community/volunteer service.

“Recipients of AGD’s Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition are true leaders among our organization and wholly embrace the AGD’s core principles and ideals,” said AGD President Manuel A. Cordero, DDS, CPH, MAGD. “For Dr. Everett, this award symbolizes a career of excellence in dentistry and demonstrates the characteristics of a role model to his fellow dentists and to members of the community.”

Everett graduated from the University of Maryland in May 1990, and currently practices dentistry in Palmerton.

He has two children, while his fiancee, Lisa Jannazzo, has one.

In addition to the AGD, Everett is a member of the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, Panther Valley Dental Association, Pennsylvania Academy of General Dentistry, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
