Summit Hill man jailed on drug charges

A 32-year-old Summit Hill man who was stopped by state police at Lehighton for a Motor Vehicle Code violation ended up being jailed on drug charges.

Police said the traffic stop was made at 1:34 p.m. July 19 on Route 248 in Palmerton borough, after which time police determined the man was driving while under the influence of a controlled substance. He was also found to be in possession of contraband, police said.

After taking the man for a blood draw, police had him committed to the Carbon County Correctional Facility, Nesquehoning.
