Nesquehoning fire company seeking new brush truck

Published July 27. 2018 09:56PM

A Nesquehoning fire company wants the borough’s help with securing a grant for a new piece of fire equipment.

On Wednesday, Randy Kraus of the Hauto Volunteer Fire Department asked borough council if it would submit a Local Share Account grant application on the fire company’s behalf to cover the cost for a new brush rescue truck. The total cost is $143,000.

Kraus said that the truck would replace a 33-year-old piece of equipment that is used for emergencies such as rescues at Glen Onoko.

Council asked if Kraus could provide additional details for its August meeting before it acts on the request.

The grant application must be submitted by September.
