Walker Twp. finalizes plans for roadwork

Published August 03. 2018 02:30PM

Although Walker Township supervisors had recently finalized several projects including the addition of a seal coat to both Valley Road and Catawissa Street and an upcoming base repair on Wildcat Road scheduled to begin in September, plans were discussed at Thursday night’s meeting that would help keep the ball rolling.

Attendees shared their hopes of getting both summer and winter maintenance approved that would fix what is necessary and to prepare for the colder months.

Other road plans include brushing off the excess from the township’s tar-and-chip.

In other news, Mauch Chunk Bank called the township to discuss switching to their bank to take advantage of using a debit card to handle transactions. The township is still in the process of the switch and receiving quotes on future line painting.

According to the police report, two thefts, a 911 hang-up, four traffic stops and an abandoned vehicle on Valley Road were reported.
