Ward graduates with honors

Emily A. Ward, daughter of Thomas and Ruth Ward of Tamaqua, graduated summa cum laude from Philadelphia University’s Kanbar College of Design, Engineering and Commerce, earning Bachelor of Science degrees in accounting and fashion merchandising and management. Commencement exercises were held May 9.

A four-year member of the Philadelphia Rams Cheerleading Squad, she served as team captain in her senior year.

In recognition of her high scholastic achievements, she was a dean’s list student for all eight semesters. Ward has been invested as a lifetime member of Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business.

A project she completed won a 2018 Fashion Scholarship Fund award, which led to a trip to New York City for an awards dinner and career fair held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel.

She has accepted a position with the Ross Corporation in New York City.
