Man driving without license cited

Published July 30. 2016 09:02AM

A Hazleton man was cited by McAdoo Police following a traffic stop in the borough on July 17.

An officer on patrol saw a silver Audi traveling on North Hancock Street.

The car had a Pennsylvania license plate and a New Jersey inspection sticker, which led to a traffic stop.

The driver, Gil Da Delarosa Paredes, 22, wasn't able to provide his license, registration and proof of insurance as he isn't a licensed driver and the car was owned by a cousin.

None of the five occupants had a valid driver's license.

Officers were given permission to search the vehicle and found two small, clear plastic bags containing marijuana in the center console and a glass pipe with marijuana residue.

Paredes was cited for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a license.

The car was set to be towed by Zenier's Towing when the owner arrived and made arrangements with the towing company.
