Lehighton State Police - Thefts
State police at Lehighton report the following incidents:
• Police are investigating a theft and criminal mischief incident that was reported to them at 2 a.m. July 19.
The resident of Franklin Heights Road, Franklin Township reported someone damaged a storm door and stole a flower pot at the residence.
• Police are investigating the theft of a sign from a residence on Bowman Road in Penn Forest Township.
The homeowner reported someone stole the sign that stated “private driveway; no ATVs permitted.”
• An Effort woman reported the theft of an iPhone 6 from a residence in Chestnuthill Township.
The victim reported the phone was stolen between noon and 6 p.m. June 30 at a residence on Rocky Mountain Drive North in the township.
• The theft of five batteries from a garage in East Penn Township happened between 7 a.m. Aug. 1 and 7 a.m. Aug. 4 at 1227 Ben Salem Road in the township.
The victim told police someone stole the DeWalt 20-volt XR batteries from his garage. Each of the batteries is worth $45, police said.
