Fire damages garage in Nesquehoning

Fire damaged a 3-car garage in Nesquehoning Wednesday afternoon.

At3:45p.m. Nesquehoning, Jim Thorpe, Lansford, and Summit Hill fire companies along with Lehighton ALS were dispatched to a structure fire to the rear of 100 West Catawissa St.

When police and fire officers arrived on scene they found smoke and flames coming from a three-bay car garage. They attempted to extinguish the fire with extinguishers, but to no avail.

The first engine immediately pulled a line and put out the fire. Other crews came in and assisted with ventilation. Crews returned a short time later.
