Woman injured in West Penn crash

    A young woman was seriously injured Thursday afternoon in a crash along Route 443 in West Penn Township. The crash occurred just before 4 p.m. as she was driving west just past the intersection with Mantzville Road. She lost control, entering the right berm, hitting a utility pole. The pickup continued on, coming to rest adjacent to a corn field. She was treated at the scene by members of the Penn Mahoning ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being flown to a Lehigh Valley trauma center.
