Driver flees scene of L. Towamensing crash
State police at the Lehighton barracks said the driver of a vehicle that crashed in Lower Towamensing Township fled the scene at the intersection of Spruce Hollow Road and Strohl Drive.
Police said the crash happened between July 22 and Aug. 7 when a vehicle traveling east on Strohl Drive was traveling at an unsafe speed and failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. Due to its high speed, the vehicle struck a section of guide rail with its passenger’s side front end, spun counterclockwise and traveled north across both lanes of travel on Strohl Drive before exiting the roadway. The vehicle went on to the property in the 600 block of Spruce Hollow Road, where it struck a barn with its front end.
Police said there are no witnesses to the crash.
