Northern Lehigh School Board — financial matters
Northern Lehigh School Board approved the following financial matters last week:
• Approved the Supplemental Personnel Salary Schedule for the 2018-19 school year, which reflects a $1 an hour increase for substitute aides/secretaries.
• Approved the submission of PlanCon Part K to the Pennsylvania Department of Education for a partial refinancing of the Series 2012 bonds.
• Authorized the payment of $13,764 to PA Window Tint Inc. for installation of safety film for windows at Peters and Slatington Elementary schools, and Northern Lehigh High School, that was not included on the original quote to be paid from the 2017-18 general fund budget.
• Entered into an agreement between the district and KRE Security/Investigations Inc. for the purpose of providing security-related professional services on an as-needed basis for sporting events for the 2018-19 school year.
• Entered into a master services agreement and three-year contract extension with Computer Aid Inc. to provide transportation software (Safe Transport) at a cost of $47 per bus per month. There is no increase over last year’s contract.
• Appointed Axis Insurance Company as the 2018-19 Student Accident and Athletic Insurance Carrier, beginning Aug. 5. The renewal rate is $24,900, to include all interscholastic sports, band and cheerleading. Voluntary school coverage is $22 for the school time rate and $88 for the 24-hour rate.
• Appointed Alive Risk as the 2018-19 Felonious Assault and Violent Crime Coverage Insurance Carrier, beginning Aug. 5. The rate is $350, which includes all enrolled students.
• Approved the request of the senior high school to close the Class of 2018 account in accordance with the Student Activities Fund guidelines. The account balance is $8.39, and the funds will be transferred to the Student Council account.
