New to Medicare workshop

Blue Mountain Health System will co-sponsor an educational workshop on "New to Medicare" with the Carbon County Area Agency on Aging on at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Blue Mountain Medical Plaza at 512 Bank St. in Bowmanstown.

The four parts of Medicare include hospital care, physician and lab work and prescription drug coverage. It is important to get a basic understanding of the program. A representative from the Carbon County Area Agency on Aging will provide a general introduction to Medicare, which includes Medicare Parts A-D, Medicare supplemental insurance (Medi-Gap policies), Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare Prescription Drug Plans (Part D).

The New to Medicare program is to help people entering Medicare for the first time, and their caregivers, to better understand this comprehensive health care program.
