Identity theft cases investigated
State police at the Lehighton barracks are investigating two identity theft/fraud case.
The first case was reported at 6:16 p.m. Friday by the victim, a man from Towamensing Township.
Police said the incident took place at a residence on Strohl Drive in the township when the victim’s identity was stolen and used to open a fraudulent Verizon wireless account.
In the second case, which happened on Saturday, the victim is a woman, also from Hazlewood Road in Towamensing.
Police said she reported someone obtained her identity by unknown means and used it to open a PayPal credit account.
