Schuylkill County court — probation

Schuylkill County judges placed on probation five people charged by local police. One man was placed on intermediate punishment. In addition to their punishments, all the defendants were ordered to pay court costs and fees.

Christina A. Musser, 22, of Pottsville, pleaded guilty to theft by unlawful taking. Judge John E. Domalakes ordered her to pay $3,350 in restitution to Pappy’s Mini Mart and to serve 24 months on probation.

The sentence is to be served concurrently with sentences of 12 months each on charges of manufacture of a controlled substance, two counts; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Coaldale police charged Musser on April 21, 2017.

Charges of possession of a controlled substance and retail theft were dropped.

Kathy Tonkin, 23, of Hazleton, was placed on 12 months probation by Domalakes.

She was charged by Tamaqua police with possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct on July 21, 2017.

Stephen D. Cooper, 59, of PawPaw, West Virginia, was placed by Domalakes on seven years of strict probation and ordered to perform 50 hours of community service on a theft charge. A charge of retail theft was dropped.

Cooper was charged by Rush Township police on March 25, 2017.

Richard D. George, 34, of Tamaqua, was placed by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin to 24 months on probation on charges of terroristic threats and simple assault.

Additional charges of terroristic threats and disorderly conduct were dropped.

George was charged by Tamaqua police on Dec. 13, 2017.

Ryan P. Kosman, 29, of Coaldale, pleaded guilty to making false statements.

Domalakes placed him on probation for 12 months.

Kosman was charged by Tamaqua police on Oct. 7, 2017.

Rico J. Cordero, 34, of Danville, Montour County, pleaded guilty to two counts of manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance; tampering with/fabricating physical evidence; fleeing or attempting to elude officer, and driving while operating privileges were suspended or revoked.

Additional charges of two counts of intent to possess a controlled substance by a person not registered, operating a vehicle without required financial responsibility, and driving an unregistered vehicle were dropped.

Domalakes placed Cordero on three years of intermediate punishment, to be served via Montour County Drug Court.

Tamaqua police charged Cordero on Jan. 25.
