Bethany EC Church

Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship with the Rev. Jeff Stansbury, pastor.

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages, including adult Bible study class, morning worship at 10:45 a.m., preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Tuesday: Women’s Bible study, 10 a.m. at Blocker’s residence.

Wednesday: Prayer meeting, 7 p.m.

Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, 5:15 a.m.; choir practice, 7 p.m.

Looking ahead:

• Ladies Book Club: 10 a.m. Sept. 29, “The Wish” by Beverly Lewis.

• Rally Day/Homecoming: 10 a.m., Oct. 7.

Crossroads Community Church

Crossroads Community Church, 580 Coal St., holds Sunday worship service with Pastor Jim Banks. It is a place for a fresh start with God.

Adult Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; contemporary worship service at 10:30 a.m. with nursery available; children’s Sunday school at 11 a.m.; fellowship following service.

Tuesday: Adult Bible study at 6:30 p.m., currently studying the book of Galatians.

Communion: Last Sunday of the month.

Trinity highlights

Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., is at 9:30 a.m. To be included is the service of healing and blessing of prayer shawls. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Rich Bergen assists. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

The service of healing with prayers and the “laying on of hands” are said for those to help ease one’s emotional, physical and spiritual burdens. Prayer shawls are handmade by volunteers, and are to be used in times of joy or sorrow and ordinary times during daily faith practices. The prayer shawls are available at no cost.

Sunday church school classes for students ages 3 through sixth grade begins at 10:45 a.m.

First Tuesday Quiet Communion is 10 a.m. Oct. 2.

For those seeking membership at Trinity, Pastor Moore will provide information at 1 p.m. Sunday. For those wishing to arrange a baptismal date, Pastor Moore will share information at 1 p.m. Oct. 21. Contact the church office in advance at 610-377-4303 to register.
