Weissport cracks down on delinquent bills
Weissport is cracking down on those who are not paying their yearly garbage bills.
The borough collected $1,314.20 last month in garbage dues, but not everyone is paying.
In some cases, people have not paid their bill in three years.
The council is looking into legal action against those who refuse to pay.
“These people who owe the money, we have to find sufficient assets to seize to then put up for share of sale or constable sale,” attorney Greg Mousseau told council Monday night.
In other business, Weissport is looking into recycling as part of 2019 garbage bids.
The borough agreed to donate $100 to Lehighton Ambulance Association.
