Motorcyclist seriously injured in Carbon crash

A Northampton County motorcyclist was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash about 6:56 p.m. on Saturday along Little Gap Road in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County.

State police at Lehighton said Michael D. Miller, 20, of Bethlehem, was driving a 2007 Honda 600RR motorcycle eastbound and attempting to pass a 2005 Ford Focus driven by Ruth V. Brill, 74, of Palmerton, as she was turning into her driveway, causing a collision. After impact Miller and the bike landed in the front yard of Brill.

Miller and Brill were both taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. Miller sustained serious injuries. Brill's injuries were not immediately known, troopers said. Miller was cited for the crash.
