Bethany EC Church

Bethany EC Church, 222 North St., with the Rev. Jeff Stansbury, pastor. Due to Lehighton’s celebration of Octoberfest in and around the park area, Sunday worship services will be held at 10 a.m. There will be no Sunday school.

Wednesday: Prayer meeting, 7-8 p.m., prayer, devotions and singing.

Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, 5:15 a.m.; choir practice, 7 p.m.

Friday: Wrapped in Prayer Ministry.

Saturday: Feed My Starving Children, Union United Church of Christ, 5550 Route 873, Neffs, PA 18065.

Crossroads Community church

Crossroads Community Church, 580 Coal St., holds Sunday worship service with Pastor Jim Banks. It is a place for a fresh start with God.

Adult Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; contemporary worship service at 10:30 a.m. with nursery available; children’s Sunday school at 11 a.m.; fellowship following service.

Tuesday: Adult Bible study at 6:30 p.m., currently studying the book of Galatians.

Communion: Last Sunday of the month.

Trinity highlights

Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., begins at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Music will be provided by the praise band. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

Sunday church school for students ages 3 through sixth grade begins at 10:45 a.m.

Registration is open for enrolling students currently in sixth grade for First Holy Communion classes. Three classes Oct. 23-25 4-5:30 p.m. Please contact the church office at 610-377-4303 for further information by Oct. 14. Communicants will receive their first Holy Communion on Reformation Sunday, Oct. 28.

Members of Trinity will be participating in the CROP Walk at Lehigh Canal Park, Weissport, on Sunday. Registration at 1 p.m., the walk starts at 2 p.m. The course is 1-4 miles. Last-minute walk-ins are welcome to participate.

For those who receive once-a-month assistance from the food pantry: in addition to the regular Tuesday 10 a.m.-3 p.m. schedule, third Tuesday evening hours are 5:30-7 p.m. Oct. 16.

For those desiring to arrange a baptismal date, Pastor Moore will share information at 1 p.m. Oct. 21. For those desiring to seek membership at Trinity, Pastor Moore will provide information at 1 p.m. Oct. 28. Please contact the church office in advance to register.
