George L. Werley of Palmerton has received the annual Doehler Award, then highest honor given by the $4 billion die-casting industry, at the 49th annual meeting this week of the American Die Casting Institute in Lincolnshire, Illinois.
R.W. Rosenquest, vice president, Market Development, of New Jersey Zinc, presented the award in recognition of Werley’s distinguished contributions to die casting during his 53 years with NJZ.
Born in Palmerton 76 years ago, Werley joined NJZ in 1918 while still a student at Palmerton High School and later earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Penn State University.
