Pottsville woman arrested for DUI

A Pottsville woman was arrested in Summit Hill after police found her to be driving while intoxicated.

According to borough police, at 9:17 p.m. July 13, officers were dispatched for an erratic driver operating a silver Jeep Liberty.

Officers saw the vehicle and approached to speak with the driver.

As they spoke with the driver, identified as Gina McGinley, 49, ofWest Market Street, they noticed that she was heavily intoxicated. She then became combative with police when they attempted to take her into custody.

McGinley was charged with driving under the influence, resisting arrest, failure to drive on the right side of the road, following too closely and for not producing her driver's license or insurance or owner's card.

She was then placed in the Carbon County Correctional Facility.
