October 18, 1969 — Jimmy Barron scores three touchdowns and runs for 125 yards as Tamaqua pulls away from Panther Valley for a 44-6 victory. Barron opens the scoring with a 10-yard touchdown run, and after PV ties the game, he catches a 55-yard TD pass from Jeff Truskey to give his team the lead for good. The Blue Raiders, coached by Walt Ligenza, tally 32 unanswered points in the second half. Truskey adds an 11-yard TD run and Barron reaches the end zone again from two yards out. Other scores come from Ron Ritsick and Glen Behr. Truskey ends with 103 rushing yards, while Larry Lishman adds 96.
