A look back: Oct. 20, 1980
Some 200 citizens connected with the Concerned Citizens for Action group rallied and picketed the McAdoo Associates site in Kline Township yesterday, despite the pledge from the Department of Environmental Resources that the hazardous barrels at the dump site would be removed.
There is nearly a half million gallons of chemical waste stored on the property that the local people want removed.
Event organizer Joseph Krushinsky said the protestors are fearful DER will not live up to its pledge to clean up the area and intend to keep up their protests until they receive satisfaction from the government.
