A look back: Oct. 24, 1984

George Miller, the Tamaqua native noted for his impersonation of Harry Truman, Asa Packer and Will Rodgers, will be delighting local audiences at the Mauch Chunk Opera House, Jim Thorpe.

In Miller’s presentation of the illustrious author-river pilot-prospector-printer and publisher, he incorporates much of Hal Holbrook’s “Mark Twain Tonight” with his own personally researched additions from unpublished documents and personal notes from relatives and friends who have viewed his performances.

You will see and hear Twain in “An Evening with Mark Twain” as he may have appeared in 1905 at the age of 70.
