Two people were arrested on drug charges following an initial report of a fight.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers were dispatched to 1631 Long Pond Road in Long Pond around noon Sunday to a report of a fight involving a crowbar. On scene officers saw drops of blood on the driveway, and on the front and back doors of the residence. Attempts were made to make contact with anyone inside the home.

Police then made a perimeter check and found Heather Grove, 31, of Effort, hiding under a pine tree. Grove told officers that Derek Crowley, 32, of Long Pond, was inside the home and had a severe injury to his arm. Grove was found to be in possession of a large amount of pills, including oxycodone.

Police gained entry to the home and found Crowley with a severe laceration to his left arm. Police also saw heroin, marijuana and pills in the home.

Crowley told officers he got into a confrontation with two people who took $1,500 in cash from him. Crowley said he confronted the two in the driveway and attempted to grab the window of their vehicle, which shattered and caused the injury to his arm. A further investigation revealed Grove was wanted for flight to avoid apprehension and theft out of Monroe County.

Both were taken into custody and charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility, both felonies; and misdemeanor counts of possessing instruments of crime, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The two were arraigned before District Judge Richard S. Claypool of Tobyhanna Township and committed to the county prison in Snydersville in lieu of bail.
